Nikki Billie Jean: Ehi Set by Belois Couture for Conversations with Claire DMV (March 25th, 2018)

On Sunday, March 25th, I had the pleasure of attending Conversations with Claire. Conversations with Claire previously known as Cocktails with Claire and is an event hosted by Claire Sulmers, the founder/editor-in-chief of Fashion Bomb Daily.

The 2018 tour kicked off in the DMV and the event entailed: a VIP brunch, a conversation portion that included 5 short interviews with industry moguls on their success, cocktail sipping and networking. More Info on the event (here).

I have been wanting to attend this event for the past few years, but I was never available to attend. As soon as I saw the save the date flyer (here), I quickly added the date to my calendar and the rest is history.

It was nice meeting Claire Sulmers (@clairesulmers), she is super sweet and nice in person.

I decided to bring a mini version of the All Things Ankara Pop Up to Conversations with Claire, in preparation for All Things Ankara Pop Up 2018 on April 29th, 2018. Shoutout to my manager Sia Jas for helping out at our vendor table.

Thank you Fashion Bomb Daily for including All Things Ankara in a Bomb Product of the Day post (here).

Shoutout to all of the Ankaranistas who stopped by our table and made a purchase.

Event planner, Nene Michelle Bundu of A4dable Events was also in the building and helped out with our vending area as well.

I wanted my look for Conversations with Claire to stand out. I mean, hello, it is a Fashion Bomb Daily event.

I have been eyeing this co-ord set from Belois Couture on the All Thing Ankara Marketplace (here).

Y’all know I am a lover of suits, so I knew this outfit would be perfect. The dress code for the event was shiny shoes. So I hopped online a few days before the event looking for gold shinny sandal heels, but I couldn’t find my shoe size online. I wear a size 11/12.

All I had was silver shinny sandal heels, so I said to myself, “Looks like we rocking gold and silver accessories”. Can you wear gold and silver jewelry/accessories together? – Yes. It’s not common, but I sure did. It’s really about how you pair everything together. My outfit came together nicely and received alot of compliments at the event.

Side profile’n.

I am..

Nikki Fierce…lol. Let me stop.

My hair was inspired by a hairstyle Janelle Monaé had for a fashion editorial shoot with The Guardian. This hairstyle was also seen in Janelle Monae’s Django Jane music video. Janelle Monae’s hair was done by celebrity hair stylist, Nikki Nelms.

Shout out to my hair stylist Aggie Nes of Aggie Hair. It took some time and hardwork to get this hairstyle to look the way it did.

Another side view lol.

Collage tings. This was such a dope hairstyle. I have to recreate this hair style soon.

Thanks for stoping by! Also check out the event recap on Fashion Bomb Daily’s website (here).
